Step-by-step instructions for cutting and laying the floor protection mats:

1. Safety first: put on suitable work gloves to avoid cuts.
2. Choosing the right tool: a sharp carpet or utility knife and a straight edge.
3. The subfloor should be flat and level. You should also use cardboard, for example, to protect the floor.
4. Measure precisely and mark the area to be cut with chalk, or score it lightly with the knife.
5. Position the straight edge and pull the knife firmly through the mat without lifting it. Make the cut in one movement and keep the pressure even. Repeat until the mat is cut all the way through. Spread the mat apart bit by bit as you cut to reduce friction. If needed, moisten the blade slightly with soapy water so it glides better. Bear in mind, though, that this also increases the risk of slipping.
6. Any gaps between the mats can simply be taped over with black tape to stop dust and dirt getting in.
